Sophie Honeywell

Sophie Honeywell is an Interior Designer with a deep appreciation and passion for fine materials, architectural details, expert craftsmanship, color, texture and the ability to maximize a space’s optimum utility, function, flow and beauty.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Merchandising/Management from Syracuse University and an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design from AACC.

Since she started working as a designer in 2014, she has acquired extensive experience on residential, commercial (international law firm’s office renovations) and senior living projects.  Her training and experience in luxury retail management taught her the skills to provide exceptional customer service which enhances her client relationships. She views her role as a designer as one to listen carefully and thoughtfully, and guide her clients through their selection process while providing her creative expertise.  Helping her clients to create a unique, special space that reflects their vision and personality is her greatest reward. She personally gravitates towards the clean uncluttered airy Modern Farmhouse style with a mix of fine antiques and mid-century modern, with pops of art for punch. However, she is excited by all design styles and enjoys the challenge and adventure of each project. She loves to highlight special architectural features, artwork and unique furniture to let them breathe and make a statement.

Sophie, raised in Upstate New York, is from a multi-generational family of artists including painters, a weaver, a ceramicist, and a photographer.  As a child in her mother’s home weaving studio, she observed the process of wool being dyed, woven into fabric, and then sewn into home décor accessories and tailored suits. She has a deep understanding of construction and quality of textiles, and therefore a love and appreciation of working with them. Sitting with her Grandfather, a renowned Delaware watercolorist, watching the paints mix into unimaginable colors fine tuned her eye for unexpected but pleasing complimentary color selections.

Sophie has always been inspired by travel and is a city girl at heart. Living in London, Boston and Manhattan New York provided vast and varied influences. Years visiting family in Maine gave her familiarity with the architectural and coastal style of New England.  Her family roots in Delaware exposed her to its regional style.  She has now lived in the Annapolis area since 2001, currently in Severna Park with her husband, two daughters, chocolate Labrador, ginger Maine Coon cat, rabbit and depending on the day-sometimes a fish.

I recognize and appreciate the fact that you worked very hard behind the scenes in order to meet the demands of our project.  The evidence of your hard work shows in all of our beautiful new spaces.
